Philadelphia Selected as Test Market for New Solution for Seniors

Print ArticleEmail Article

Local families across the greater Philadelphia metro area will be among the first in the nation to test pilot a new method to care for their aging loved ones. Senior Helpers, a provider of in-home senior care, introduces Senior Helpers Navigator to local families as a solution for senior care aimed to ease the pressures of caring for a senior loved one. Philadelphia has been named part of the Senior Helpers' Navigator test pilot program along with only 15 other cities across the nation.

Senior Helpers Navigator is a new concept--one point of contact for all senior care services imaginable. It replaces the hours, pain, cost and aggravation of finding individual providers for in-home care assistance, home safety modifications, a geriatric care manager and countless other needs in between.

How Senior Helpers Navigator Works:

  • At the earliest warning signs that mom or dad needs help, you call in a highly trained Senior Helpers care coordinator for a full assessment.
  • The care coordinator makes recommendations for now and provides a list of things to expect in the months and years ahead. This might include ramps, safety bars, medical equipment, in-home care, assisted living, house repair, lawn service and transportation assistance, among others.
  • As things progress and more of these potential needs become reality, the same care coordinator accesses a national network of service providers for reputable, local Philadelphia experts and vendors, ensuring that clients get quality, trustworthy goods and services at a fair price. No searching, no worrying on the part of the family--one call, one contact takes care of everything.
  • Whether it's simple activities to keep the mind sharp, customized nutrition plans to combat diabetes, a handrail in the carport or shower to help seniors get in and out, or a hospital bed at a time of critical care, the care coordinator shoulders the burden, makes arrangements and makes it happen.
  • With Navigator's Wellness Watch program, a report from a monthly visit keeps close family and friends up to date on any changes in a senior's condition and any new professional recommendations. A 24/7 hotline is also available for any advice or service needs--all for a fraction of the cost of traditional geriatric care managers.

Senior Helpers Navigator is now available to local families. For more information, visit www.seniorhelpers.com.
